Movies like Slumdog Millionaire only come around every few years, they are precious gems that are found in the most unexpected of places, at times. If you haven’t seen this film, it is essential that you watch it immediately.
Danny Boyle’s peak. I doubt that he will be able to top this project, it has so much emotion and the story is so gripping and entertaining that the 120 minute runtime will feel like a mere 20 minutes. Winner of Best Cinematography, winner of Best Film Editing, Best Score, Best original song and Best sound mixing. You are in for a thrilling ride of the senses, this movie looks beautiful but also sounds elegant.
Till now only 2 movies, not supported by a major American film studio, have won the ultimate movie prize, Best Picture at the Oscars. Slumdog the latest offering and the other was The Last Emperor in 1987. 2009 also marked the first time ever for an ‘asian’ man to win 2 oscars. A.R Rahman, composer for Slumdog Millionaire, took 2 on that night, what an honour!
You’ll be left completely satisfied with this ‘bollywood’ inspired offering. It will move you in many different ways, but it will leave you feeling on high. You won’t be disappointed.
